We have a 6-year-old GSD that needs joint supplements. The dosage for these is really decent, especially for the cost. Upon opening the container, they smelled good to me and were a good treat size for our dopey boy. He sat for his "snack" and....promptly spat them out. We minced them up and put them in his food. He stuck his nose up in the air and walked away. Smeared them with peanut butter...he refused them. No matter how cost-effective they may be, if our dog won't eat them, it's a waste of money.Fast forward a week. I was taking my own supplements, and the dogs always think they need to have something too. Seriously. I give them a snack. With a lightbulb moment, I pretended to eat one of the GSD's hip & joint supplements. made a huge deal of "nom nom nom" this and "yum yum yum" that. Then I closed the lid and put the container in the cabinet. You'd have thought I told the dog he was never getting fed again, judging by his face. Back to the cabinet, and I grabbed the container, shaking it.Guess who ate his supplements??They are chewy - he takes his time, but now he is eating them. This makes it easier to give them and no more hiding them in food or pretending to eat them myself.We've been on these for about a month, three a day, and they seem to be helping! He can go on longer walks without the hip sway or dragging feet. Pretty happy about that! I'd say they are working as intended- so far so good!
These Hip & Joint Support Treats have a great ingredient list (glucosamine, chondroitin, turmeric) and my dog loves the beef flavor. They’re convenient for daily use, and I noticed a slight improvement in his mobility over time.However, the "beef flavor" label is misleading—the treats contain chicken collagen, which isn’t clearly advertised. This makes them unsafe for dogs with poultry allergies. For the price, I expected better transparency.
There's 250mg glucosamine per chew, so I have to give both dogs 2 of them per day, but I still like these. Ingredients look good, and made in USA, no overtly hyperbolic claims or badges. BUT, when I saw it has 20mg of "chicken collagen type II", I ordered immediately, assumed it was UC-II (undenatured type II collagen), since that comes from chicken, is also labeled "type II", and most often available in 20mg per serving. Once it came, curious why label didn't specify "undenatured", so I contacted the company, who confirmed it was hydrolyzed, not UC-II. They were great to deal with, and gave an honest reply, but I think they should specify this on the label, especially when collagen comes in so many forms. After some obsessive research about collagen, my understanding is hydrolyzed collagen is broken down further, into peptides and such, absorbs differently, yada yada... basically doesn't have the same studied benefits of undenatured type II collagen for pain and protecting joints. There are other benefits to hydrolyzed collagen (you can look all this stuff up), but you'd need much more of it than is in a dose here; 20mg is typical dose of UC-II, which was a big reason I made that assumption.I take time to write honest reviews that I would find helpful. With 2 dogs, this lasts 35 days. Current price of about $28 is a little more than I'd like to spend on glucosamine supplements per month or so. If the type II collagen were undenatured, this would make it worth the price to me, since I’m currently getting that separately. Value is subjective though, so 4 stars seems fair.
My dog loves to run, play and fetch. However, lately it has been tough watching her struggle to go up and down stairs and to try to chase squirrels and rabbits in our yard. Additionally, she recently tore her ACL which required surgery to repair. To help strengthen her joints and help her once again find joy in running and chasing, I discovered this product and decided to give it a try in conjunction with physical therapy. While I have only tried them for a short while, my beloved dog is moving more freely and is no longer favoring her surgically repaired hind leg. She loves the beef flavored supplements and anxiously looks forward to me adding them to her meal. I am so happy to see my Zola having fun and not suffering afterwards. These supplements have natural and healthy ingredients, and it really works. I will certainly look to purchase more.
My dogs LOVE these treats! and I love that they are going to help the longevity of their hips and joints. I’m always looking for things to help keep them young and I love that these double as a yummy treat!

Our two small pups are getting older. One of them has stopped jumping up on the bed. I guess that could be considered a good thing! I figured it was time to help them with joint mobility. It's difficult quantify the effectiveness, but so far there has been no negative effects. It's easy to get them to take one. They like the taste.

The tub contained about 140 treats and weighed in at 10oz. Each treat is rather small at around a ½” in diameter by ¼” in height.
As for the mobility benefits, these seem to be doing their job. Hip issues in large shepherds is fairly common and both my boys are feeling it. I've noticed when on glucosamine supplements they seem to be less stiff when they wake up from a nap and stretch it out.

My GS started limping after her walk now and then, and she's only 5. So I looked into these for her. Excellent value, good supply for the price, as they are often on sale. I keep them in a specific cupboard, they know which one has the supplements and believe they are treats, whew LOL - I have learned which brands and flavors they like in addition to which are most effective for different issues. She likes the taste of this one, takes it as a treat or a food topper.

I ordered these Hip and Joint Mobility Chews for my aging larger dog. To start, she loves the flavor so getting her to take them is no problem. I noticed that after about 2 weeks of taking the supplements her stiffness seems to be improving. I love the higher dosage of the glucosamine and chondroitin in these supplements. After being on these hip and joint supplements, she has more energy and has wanted to play like she used to.

Having 3 XXL dogs, 6, 8, and 10, I know glucosamine works as I see it every day. I normally try to get 500mg per chew, and these are actually 500mg per TWO chews. However, it is such a great value for 140 chews, I frequently find a higher cost on 70. Since they are fresh and meaty tasting and smelling, none of my 'kids' complain that they get twice as many. Additionally, these contain good quantities of many other joint beneficial ingredients.

Overall, this is a pretty good supplement for its price point. The dosage instructions only go up to 90lbs and my Rottweiler is 115lbs, so I gave him a bonus chew for being big. I'd like for the supplement to be a bit more potent with certain compounds, but still like all of the ingredients. I think this would be a good starter product for dogs new to glucosamine and chondroitin, but probably is not strong enough for elderly or quite worn down dogs.
